I Will Die: Kajal Agarwal

Not very often does Actors reveal about the important aspects of the roles they were playing prior to the release as it kills the curiosity element. Kajal Agarwal seems to be thinking otherwise and went on to reveal that she is gonna die in her upcoming film 'Yevadu' as part of the script. 

To a question on how has been the year 2013 for her, She replied, "So far, 2013 has been good for me as far as Telugu Film Industry is concerned. Two of my films 'Nayak' and 'Baadshah' have be successful and soon 'Yevadu' would be releasing. Though I have done a cameo as a pair to Allu Arjun, It was a nice role. I will die in the film and the story takes a crucial turn from there onwards".

Kajal declares language has never been a problem for her, be it Telugu or Tamil. While she could speak Telugu, she some how manages do well with Tamil too. For her, understanding what others have been speaking around her or the things other have been conveying to her is more important and she is able to do a fine job. 

Even after three months after the release of 'Baadshah', Kajal isn't able to sign a single Telugu film. All of her upcoming films have been with the Tamil heroes - one each with Vijay, Karthi and Udayanidhi Stalin.

The making video of the folk song 'Kaatan Rayuda Kadhiri Narsimhuda' sung by Pawan Kalyan for 'Atharintiki Daredi' that comes as part of a particular sequence in this family entertainer has been unveiled Today.

Pawan Kalyan was seen in a black jacket and blue jeans in the recording studio. One can clearly notice the involvement of the actor while rendering voice to the song. His body language, modulations, corrections suggested (lyrics) and the remarkable energy levels - What Not, everything is fabulous.

Notably, Pawan wrapped up this song in less than 30 minutes. However, the impact of it would be beyond anyone's expectations for two reasons - 1) Pawan Kalyan has done something like this for the first time; 2) None of the singers could have done justice to the song better than Powerstar.

The film ‘Romance’ has released today across the state. Directed by Darling Swamy and produced by Good Cinema Group, the movie has been endorsed by Maruthi. The A rated flick has come in with good expectations,so let us see if the film has what it takes.

Story :

Krishna (Prince) is an engineering student. He is always on the lookout for the perfect girlfriend, preferably a virgin. He does not believe in pre-marital sex etc and he expects the same from his prospective girlfriends.

Lalitha aka Lola (Manasa) is the first woman to come into his life. She comes across as an aggressive young woman. Lola likes Krishna’s frankness and the two of them start dating each other. However, Krishna discovers that Lola is way too aggressive for him and breaks up with her.

At this point of time, Anuradha (Dimple) makes an entry into the story. She comes across as a nice and traditional girl and Krishna instantly falls in love. Anu also responds and just as their love story is about to take off, Lola comes back into his life to create problems. She creates rifts between Krishna and Anu.

Krishna must now prove his innocence. What happens next? That is the story of this film.

Plus Points :

The best moment in the film is that of Mukesh’s cigarette and gutka warning clipping, which comes in when the hero tries to smoke for the first time. Apart from that, Sai manages to induce some humour as Bluetooth Bobby.

Prince is ok, but he needs to work on his expressions. Dimple looks good. Manasa is strictly average. The film may appeal to some people who love extremely vulgar dialogues.

The interval twist, where a secret about Lalitha is revealed, is nice.

Minus Points :

The film suffers from poor pace. ‘Ee Rojullo’ and ‘Bus Stop’ worked primarily because of the good pace and high entertainment quotient. Sadly, both are missing in this film.

The plot of this film is very stale and the narration is poor. The film has many cliched and outdated sequences. As in many ‘adult’ comedies that have been coming out recently, the sole aim of the film is to create a scene for Boys vs Girls superiority debate.

The mimicry scene where the actor tries to imitate Chandra Babu Naidu, V. Hanumantha Rao and KCR did not work well. In a similar way, the scenes where the girls danced to old songs like ‘Raguluthondhi Mogalipodha’ etc. failed to click.

The scene in the ladies hostel where the hero turns emotional is very superficial. Climax sequence could have been better.

Technical Aspects:

Cinematography is just average. Editing is not very smooth but this could be due to the huge number of censor cuts that were recommended by the board.Dialogues by Darling Swamy are not very effective. One gets the feeling that he just tried to blindly imitate Maruthi.

Swamy also fails to make a positive impression as a director. He needs to work on his narration techniques. Music and background score are just very average.

Verdict :

‘Romance’ comes across as an attempt to blindly replicate the success of A rated entertainers like ‘Bus Stop’ and ‘Ee Rojullo’. But this movie does not come close to those two films in terms of entertainment quotient or pace. ‘Romance’ may earn some money in B and C centers due to the double meaning dialogues and vulgarity, but it ends up being a big disappointment.

When a big budget film is slated for release, small producers tend to give way for it and look for a safe release date. But if there is no clarity over the release date of that 'big film' then it will definitely give unnecessary headaches to the small timers. Yevadu is turning out to be such pain for many small filmmakers, who are unable to lock the release date. There are many small films which are ready for release but couldn't announce the date due to the dilemma over Yevadu release.

Yevadu was supposed to release on July 25th, but it got pushed to July 31st. As of now it not clear if it will release on 31st or not. With Atharintiki Daredi release locked on August 7th, there were doubts over 31st release of Yevadu. However, Dil Raju is keeping mum about the release date of his film. He hasn't yet given green signal to the distributors and exhibitors to book theaters from the said date.

If Dil Raju clears air about his film's release date, then few films like Romance, Adda and Antaku Mundu Aa Tarvatha will release on July 26th. Atharintiki Daredi fever is catching up by the day and surprisingly Yevadu, which is expected to release earlier than AD is losing heat. Lukewarm response to the audio of Yevadu is not doing any good to the film. It is high time for Dil Raju to confirm the release date and kick start the publicity campaign.
